Following its initial investment in August 2022, Somic Transformation Co., Ltd. (Office: Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Representative Directors: Shogo Ishikawa and Masayuki Okura) announced that it will join Devices-Unlimited, a Silicon Valley startup company in the United States that develops IoT solution devices focused on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) Corp." in August 2023.
â– Background and purpose of the investment
Our company was established in November 2021 to take charge of new business development in the Somic Group, whose main business is the manufacture of automotive parts. In order to take on the challenge of businesses that solve social issues through business, we aim to foster new businesses and realize business synergies by not only developing new businesses in-house but also deepening partnerships with promising start-up companies through CVC investment.
Devices-Unlimited Corp.'s aspiration to eliminate the pain and opportunity loss caused by the hindrance of the digitalization of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the technology that makes it possible are based on the Somic Group's philosophy of "valuing human connections and becoming a company that is useful and loved by the world through our full efforts" and "a world-class "humane company from Hamamatsu" We judged that it was very compatible with our vision of growing our business and contributing to society, and decided to make our first investment in August 2022. This year's additional investment was judged to have created new value creation possibilities and opportunities through collaboration from last year. We aim to establish a solution that SMEs can realistically tackle by utilizing the development capabilities of Devices-Unlimited Corp. × the Somic Group's on-site sites to solve management issues faced by production sites and to solve management issues related to carbon neutrality, such as "a race against a fixed end of time" and "I can't" means exiting.
